(WFRV) – The UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team's historic season came to a close on Thursday when the Titans fell to Smith College in the NCAA Division III semifinal 49-47.
The Titans were led by sophomore Sammi Beyer with 15 points off of the bench and twelve rebounds from graduate student Alex Rondorf. UW-Oshkosh (27-5) reached its third Division III Final Four in program history, the first since 1996.
Despite leading 36-33 with a quarter remaining in the game, the Titans season ended with a loss to the Pioneers for the second-straight season. UWO lost the Smith in the Sweet 16 last year.
